Charlene Farthing, PA-C

Charlene Farthing is a board-certified Physician Assistant with over 20 years of experience in dermatology,  providing comprehensive medical and surgical skin care to patients across the Tri-Cities region.  She has been a dedicated provider at Tri-Cities Skin & Cancer since 2016, bringing nearly a decade of trusted, high-quality care to the practice.

Mrs. Farthing specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer, inflammatory rashes, and chronic skin disease.  She is committed to improving patient outcomes through early detection and prevention of skin cancer.  She is known for her efficiency, clinical expertise, and for taking the time to listen carefully to her patients, delivering personalized, patient-centered care.

Mrs. Farthing earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, and her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island.  She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and holds active licensure in Tennessee and Virginia.

In addition to her clinical work, Mrs. Farthing is the founder of a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to veterinary care for families and pets in Southwest Virginia.  Her work reflects a deep commitment to service, equity, and community impact.

Charlene lives on a farm in Southwest Virginia with her husband, where they enjoy horseback riding, gardening, and spending time outdoors with their dogs.
